| The
dutch bassbaritone Nico Wouterse was born in
Heerlen (the Netherlands) and studied at the
Maastricht conservatory. After receiving his
diploma for classical saxophone, he studied
voice with Mya Besselink and later with Daniel-Lewis
Williams; further vocal studies with Margreet
Honig in Amsterdam and Jean-Pierre Blivet in
Paris.

Nico Wouterse took
masterclasses with, among others,Semjon Skigin (russian
lied repertoire) and Leo van Oostrom.

| August 2001, Nico Wouterse was
one of the finalists at the „13ème concours
international de chant“ in Marmande (France) and
2006, he gained a scolarship from the "Richard-Wagner-Verband" in
Dessau (Germany).
Since 2000, Nico Wouterse
has been in the ensemble of the theaters in Trier
and Dessau (both Germany). Guest engagements
led him to various festivals as well as diverse
german theaters. In addition, Nico Wouterse
has sung opera and concerts among others in
Belgium, Switserland, Luxemburg, Lettland, Monte-Negro,
The Netherlands and France.
